SUMMARY:Arbaeen 2026\, Bemina
DESCRIPTION:Today\, August 4\, 2026\, the sprawling grounds of Imambada Bemina witnessed one of the most profound gatherings of faith\, resilience\, and unity in the Kashmir Valley. As the Islamic world marked Arbaeen—the 40th day following the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions in Karbala—tens of thousands of mourners converged on Bemina. Under the meticulous organization of Anjuman-e-Sharie Shiaan and the spiritual guidance of Aga Syed Mohammad Hadi\, the day was a powerful testament to a legacy that continues to shape the moral and social fabric of the region. \nDawn to Early Morning: The Convergence\n6:00 AM – 9:00 AM Long before the sun broke through the Himalayan mist\, the bypass roads leading to Bemina transformed into rivers of black. Devotees from Budgam\, Magam\, Hasanabad\, Zadibal\, and distant rural districts began their march toward the central Imambada. Following the age-old tradition that mirrors the great walk from Najaf to Karbala\, thousands chose to travel on foot. \nThe route was lined with elaborately decorated Mawkibs (hospitality tents) and Sabeels. Local youth committees and volunteers affiliated with Anjuman-e-Sharie Shiaan stood ready\, distributing hot Kashmiri Kehwa\, dates\, and water to the arriving mourners. The atmosphere was charged with the rhythmic hum of early morning Marsiya (elegies) echoing from mobile loudspeakers\, setting a deeply reflective tone for the day. \nMidday: The Grand Procession\n10:00 AM – 1:00 PM By mid-morning\, the tributary processions merged into a massive\, unified column at the Bemina bypass. At the forefront marched standard-bearers carrying towering Alams\, beautifully adorned to symbolize the flag of Hazrat Abbas (AS). \nThe procession was highly structured. Rows of mourners engaged in synchronized Sina-zani (chest-beating)\, moving in perfect rhythm to the heart-wrenching Nohas recited by prominent Noha-khwaans. A dedicated and highly disciplined segment of the procession was formed by women\, honoring the legacy of Sayyida Zainab (SA)\, who is celebrated on Arbaeen as the fierce protector of the Karbala narrative. \nDespite the sheer volume of attendees\, the volunteer corps of Anjuman-e-Sharie Shiaan managed traffic flow and crowd safety with remarkable precision\, a testament to the organizational framework originally laid down by the late Aga Syed Mohammad Fazlullah. \nAfternoon: The Pulpit of Awakening\n1:30 PM – 3:30 PM As the procession reached the vast courtyards of Imambada Bemina\, the throngs settled for the midday Zuhr and Asr congregational prayers. Following the prayers\, a hush fell over the tens of thousands gathered as Aga Syed Mohammad Hadi took to the pulpit. \nIn a stirring and intellectually rich Majlis (sermon)\, Aga Syed Mohammad Hadi bridged the historical tragedy of 61 AH with the socio-political realities of 2026. He emphasized that the true essence of Arbaeen is not merely weeping for the past\, but standing resolute against the oppressions of the present. \n“The tears we shed today are a covenant of justice\,” he addressed the massive crowd. He passionately urged the Kashmiri youth to intellectualize their grief—to pursue education\, uphold ethics\, and contribute constructively to society\, echoing the core mission of Imam Hussain (AS) to reform the ummah. \nLate Afternoon: Transforming Grief into Action\n3:30 PM – 5:30 PM One of the most defining features of Aga Syed Mohammad Hadi’s modern leadership is the integration of humanitarian action into traditional mourning. As the sermons concluded\, thousands of youth transitioned from the Majlis halls to the medical camps set up within the Imambada complex. \nIn collaboration with local hospitals\, Anjuman-e-Sharie Shiaan hosted a massive blood donation drive. Hundreds of volunteers donated blood\, a powerful\, life-saving tribute to the blood spilled on the sands of Karbala. Simultaneously\, broad charity initiatives (Sadaqah and Niyaz) were executed\, distributing food packets and essential supplies to marginalized families\, ensuring that the socio-economic message of Karbala reached the most vulnerable in Srinagar. \nEvening: Ziyarat-e-Arbaeen and Conclusion\n6:00 PM – Dusk As the sun began to set over Bemina\, the scent of burning incense filled the air. The day’s events culminated in the collective recitation of Ziyarat-e-Arbaeen. Tens of thousands of hands rose in unison as the attendees recited the sacred salutations\, reaffirming their ideological allegiance to the martyrs. \nThe crowds slowly began to disperse under the twilight sky. The roads were swept clean by Anjuman volunteers\, leaving Imambada Bemina as peaceful as it was at dawn. Today’s Arbaeen in Kashmir was not just a commemoration of a 14-century-old tragedy; it was a living demonstration of a community’s unbreakable spirit\, perfectly balancing traditional devotion with modern civic responsibility.
